Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on city infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, and parks.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, and asphalt paving machines.
- Inspect public works projects to ensure compliance with safety standards and engineering specifications.
- Respond to emergency repair requests, such as pothole filling and street sign repairs, during adverse weather conditions.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments and contractors to coordinate large-scale projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment status.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and OSHA guidelines while on site.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Colorado Class A or B Driverβs License with a good driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with heavy machinery and hand tools is highly preferred.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
