Responsibilities
- Interact professionally with the public to greet visitors, answer questions, and provide guidance on DMV procedures and forms.
- Process a high volume of transactions including driver’s license renewals, vehicle registrations, title transfers, and identification card applications.
- Verify customer eligibility and documentation, ensuring all information is complete and accurate before proceeding.
- Operate state computer systems and Point of Sale (POS) terminals to update records and print official documents.
- Handle incoming phone calls and resolve routine inquiries regarding wait times, fees, and document requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment while adhering to strict privacy and data protection regulations.
- Assist in training new staff members and providing feedback to management on operational improvements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service, retail, or administrative support.
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on courtesy and patience.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow complex government procedures accurately.
- Must be able to pass a background check and a valid driver’s record check.
