Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with a professional and welcoming demeanor, managing queues efficiently.
- Process DMV transactions including license renewals, vehicle registrations, and title transfers accurately and in compliance with state regulations.
- Answer incoming phone calls and emails promptly, resolving inquiries and providing accurate information regarding fees, hours, and document requirements.
- Resolve customer complaints and escalations with patience and diplomacy, ensuring high satisfaction scores.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer interactions and transactions using the department's database systems.
- Assist in training new staff members on standard operating procedures and customer service best practices.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service, retail, or government operations is highly desirable.
- Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex policies simply.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a major plus and may qualify you for a salary differential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Must pass a background check and obtain any necessary state certifications.
