Responsibilities
- Provide in-person assistance for driver's licenses, vehicle registrations, and ID card transactions
- Resolve customer inquiries regarding DMV regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements
- Process payments and maintain accurate transaction records using state systems
- Explain complex policies clearly to diverse clientele including non-native English speakers
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service delivery and queue management
- Support special projects like driver's license renewals and vehicle title transfers
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive customer information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 2 years customer service experience in high-volume settings
- Proficiency with computer systems and data entry applications
- Ability to remain composed during peak periods and challenging interactions
- Knowledge of Hawaiian culture and multilingual skills (Japanese/Tagalog/Pidgin) highly valued
- Valid Hawaii driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting requirements
