Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide emergency response plans for natural disasters and public health crises
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies during disaster declarations
- Manage emergency operations center activations and resource deployment
- Train public safety personnel on updated incident command systems
- Analyze risk assessments and recommend infrastructure improvements
- Lead public awareness campaigns for disaster preparedness
- Prepare grant applications for FEMA and DHS funding opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of emergency management experience in government or public sector
- FEMAP certification or equivalent incident command training
- Proven crisis communication and inter-agency coordination skills
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Experience with emergency management software (e.g., WebEOC)
- Ability to work 24/7 during disaster activations
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
