Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans for hurricanes, floods, and other hazards
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response efforts with state, federal, and nonprofit partners
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Lead public awareness campaigns on emergency preparedness strategies
- Manage emergency operations center during activation events
- Prepare and maintain FEMA compliance documentation and grant applications
- Train first responders and community volunteers in emergency protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of emergency management or public safety experience
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Incident Command System (ICS) 300/400 certification preferred
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency software platforms
- Ability to work rotating shifts during disaster activations
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Experience with grant writing and FEMA reimbursement processes
