Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency preparedness strategies for Miami-Dade County
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response operations during declared emergencies
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Manage public safety communication systems and alert protocols
- Train emergency personnel and community stakeholders in response procedures
- Secure federal/state grants for emergency infrastructure projects
- Analyze post-incident reports to improve future response effectiveness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of emergency management or public safety experience
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Experience with NIMS/ICS protocols and ESF coordination
- Valid Florida driver's license and ability to work irregular hours
- Strong data analysis skills with emergency management software
- Spanish fluency preferred for community engagement
