Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response operations during natural disasters and public emergencies
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans for high-risk zones
- Manage critical infrastructure protection strategies for energy, water, and transportation systems
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analysis for county facilities
- Lead public crisis communications across multiple platforms
- Train emergency responders and community volunteers on protocols
- Secure federal disaster funding through FEMA grant applications
- Analyze post-incident data to improve future response strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of emergency management experience at municipal/county level
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Incident Command System (ICS) 300/400 certification
- Advanced GIS mapping and spatial analysis skills
- Proven experience with FEMA grant management and reporting
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work 24/7 during emergencies with minimal notice
