Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive emergency response plans for natural disasters and public health crises
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies during disaster operations
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train public safety personnel and community volunteers on emergency protocols
- Manage emergency operations center during crisis situations
- Secure grant funding for emergency preparedness programs
- Prepare public safety communications and incident reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in emergency planning or disaster response
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
