Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans for natural disasters and public health emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency response efforts during crisis situations
- Analyze risk assessments and vulnerability data for strategic planning
- Train public officials and community members in emergency protocols
- Manage grant-funded projects for disaster mitigation initiatives
- Prepare incident reports and after-action documentation
- Leverage GIS technology for emergency mapping and resource allocation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years experience in emergency response or disaster coordination
- Incident Command System (ICS) certification (NIMS 100/200/300/400)
- Proficiency in emergency management software and GIS platforms
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Texas driver's license with clean record
- Experience writing FEMA grant applications
- Ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
