Responsibilities
- Analyze complex fiscal data and develop evidence-based policy recommendations for state budget allocation
- Conduct comprehensive economic impact assessments for proposed legislation and regulatory changes
- Prepare detailed fiscal reports and presentations for legislative committees and executive leadership
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders to align policy objectives with strategic fiscal goals
- Monitor implementation of budget policies and evaluate effectiveness through performance metrics
- Lead cross-functional workgroups to resolve interdepartmental fiscal challenges
- Advise senior leadership on emerging fiscal trends and potential risks
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of progressive fiscal analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software
- Demonstrated expertise in California state budget processes and governmental accounting
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills for policy briefings and stakeholder engagement
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel statewide as needed
- Professional certification (CPA, CFA, or MPA) preferred
