Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for natural disasters and man-made incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency drills and real-time emergency operations
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train city staff and community partners in emergency protocols
- Manage grant applications and compliance for federal disaster preparedness funds
- Lead public outreach campaigns on disaster preparedness
- Analyze incident data to improve future response strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in emergency response or disaster planning
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with federal grant management (preferred)
