Responsibilities
- Coordinate disaster response operations during emergencies
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans
- Train city staff and community volunteers on disaster protocols
- Manage federal grant applications and reporting
- Analyze risk assessments and mitigation strategies
- Operate emergency command center systems
- Conduct post-incident evaluations and improvement plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or related field
- 3+ years experience in emergency services or public safety
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to work irregular hours during crises
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship and background clearance required
