Responsibilities
- Analyze federal pension plan documents for compliance with ERISA and OPM regulations
- Process retirement benefit applications and maintain accurate participant records
- Respond to inquiries from federal retirees regarding pension calculations and distributions
- Collaborate with finance teams on quarterly pension fund reconciliations
- Assist in preparing regulatory reports for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation
- Support outreach initiatives educating federal employees on retirement planning
- Participate in cross-departmental audits and compliance reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in benefits administration or financial analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail with ability to manage complex datasets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of pension regulations (ERISA, FERS, TSP)
- U.S. citizenship required for federal position
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
