Responsibilities
- Perform essential administrative duties: Manage incoming mail, answer phones, and route calls to appropriate departments efficiently.
- Customer Service Support: Greet visitors and residents, providing information regarding city services, permits, and programs in a friendly and professional manner.
- Document Management: Process, file, and maintain accurate records and digital databases of city documents and personnel files.
- Data Entry: Input and update information into the city's management systems with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist with Public Records Requests: Process Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and other public inquiries in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Office Support: Prepare meeting materials, take minutes for board meetings, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front office area.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; some college coursework in Public Administration or Business is a plus.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We provide on-the-job training for all successful candidates.
- Skills: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new computer software quickly.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Integrity: Must pass a background check and drug screening; ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive government information.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
