As a Government Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for our citizens, ensuring smooth operations and accurate record-keeping across various municipal departments.
Responsibilities
- Receive and screen incoming calls and visitors with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Sort, file, and maintain accurate, organized records of official city documents and correspondence.
- Assist the public with inquiries regarding city services, permits, and general procedures.
- Perform data entry tasks using government databases and standard office software (Excel, Word).
- Prepare and distribute memos, reports, and meeting materials to department heads.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front office and filing areas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite) is preferred but not mandatory for qualified candidates.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screen.
