Responsibilities
- Record Management: Process and maintain accurate government records using state database systems and manual filing methods.
- Public Assistance: Assist visitors and citizens with inquiries regarding department procedures and provide courteous service.
- Administrative Support: Prepare, proofread, and distribute internal memos, official documents, and correspondence.
- Data Entry: Perform high-volume data entry tasks with a focus on speed and exceptional accuracy.
- Communication: Answer multi-line phones and route calls efficiently to appropriate department staff.
- Inventory Control: Assist in the tracking and inventory of office supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous administrative or customer service experience is a plus but not mandatory for this entry-level role.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- License: Valid California Driver's License and access to a vehicle is preferred.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced government environment.
