Responsibilities
- Member Inquiry Support: Assist current and prospective members with pension eligibility questions, benefit calculations, and retirement planning documentation.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records within the OPERS database, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Application Processing: Review and process retirement applications and contribution adjustments for accuracy and completeness.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct research on pension laws, collective bargaining agreements, and actuarial data to support decision-making.
- Reporting: Prepare routine reports and summaries for management regarding enrollment trends and member account status.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred. High school diploma with significant relevant experience will be considered.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to maintain data integrity and perform complex calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with database management systems.
