Responsibilities
- Assist in the intake and processing of new pension and retirement benefit applications.
- Update and maintain accurate records in state database systems.
- Communicate with retirees and beneficiaries via phone and email to answer basic inquiries regarding eligibility and status.
- Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure compliance with state regulations and auditing requirements.
- Prepare and verify documentation for benefit disbursements and payroll.
- Participate in weekly training sessions to master pension calculation software.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred but not mandatory.
- No prior professional experience required (Entry Level).
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening.
