Position Overview:
As an Entry Level IT Specialist, you will assist in the delivery of technical services, support end-user needs, and contribute to various IT initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a large-scale government organization while developing your professional skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of computer equipment and peripherals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of technical incidents, tickets, and service requests.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff to analyze data and improve system efficiency.
- Participate in system upgrades, patch management, and security awareness training.
- Support the preparation of reports and documentation for state compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/macOS), and software applications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex instructions accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a required Public Trust background clearance.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime during peak periods.
