Responsibilities
- Process pension contributions, distributions, and eligibility verifications for city employees
- Maintain accurate pension records and documentation in compliance with federal/state regulations
- Assist with annual pension plan audits and financial reporting requirements
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding retirement benefits, plan options, and enrollment procedures
- Collaborate with HR and payroll departments to ensure data accuracy across systems
- Support implementation of pension policy updates and procedural improvements
- Prepare statistical reports on pension fund performance and participant demographics
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Basic knowledge of pension plans, retirement systems, or benefits administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and data entry systems
- Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain accurate financial records
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Ability to learn complex regulations and apply them to daily operations
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background investigation
