Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration and processing of pension fund applications and retirement requests.
- Review and verify employee records, payroll data, and service credit calculations.
- Update and maintain accurate pension records in the state database system.
- Conduct research on state regulations to ensure compliance with the Texas Pension Code.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and beneficiaries via phone and email.
- Prepare reports for internal audits and management reviews.
- Collaborate with the finance and HR departments to resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot errors in data entry and calculations.
- Basic knowledge of government regulations and public sector processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive financial information.
