Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing and verification of pension eligibility forms and retirement applications for state employees.
- Respond to inquiries from public sector workers regarding contribution rates, vesting schedules, and benefit calculations.
- Perform high-volume data entry and maintain accurate records within the state's pension management system (ERP).
- Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure all pension calculations strictly adhere to government regulations and ERISA standards.
- Prepare routine reports regarding pension fund performance and member demographics for senior leadership review.
- Conduct research on legislative changes affecting public pensions and update internal documentation accordingly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by acting as the primary point of contact for internal clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience in a government or financial setting).
- 0-2 years of experience in administrative support, customer service, or data analysis; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel functions and database management.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy when handling sensitive financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or possess permanent legal residency to meet government security clearance requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced government environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
