Your Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing of pension applications and benefit claims for retired state employees.
- Review and verify pension documentation for accuracy and compliance with state regulations.
- Respond to inquiries from retirees regarding pension plans and benefits via phone and email.
- Perform data entry and maintenance of pension records within the state database system.
- Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure timely payroll and retirement disbursements.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on changes in state pension laws and policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect errors in data entry and documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
- Basic understanding of government regulations and public sector operations is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
