Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the public and state employees with inquiries regarding pension eligibility, benefit calculations, and retirement planning.
- Process and review pension application packets for accuracy, compliance, and completeness in accordance with state regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the state pension database, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Prepare benefit statements, correspondence, and official documentation for retirees and beneficiaries.
- Collaborate with the Finance and HR departments to ensure accurate payroll deductions and benefit allocations.
- Research and interpret government pension codes to resolve complex issues and provide accurate guidance.
- Support the administration of pension plan audits and compliance reporting.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive financial data with strict confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with government regulations, policies, and procedures is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data entry systems.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment while meeting tight deadlines.

Location: Columbus, Ohio (Available for remote candidates in North Carolina or Ohio).
Employment Type: Full-Time.
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 USD.
