Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, childcare facilities, and public swimming pools
- Investigate public health complaints and enforce regulatory compliance
- Develop educational materials for businesses and community stakeholders
- Analyze environmental data to identify emerging health risks
- Collaborate with local health departments on disease prevention initiatives
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and regulatory documentation
- Represent the agency in public hearings and community outreach events
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- California Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of environmental health or public health experience
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of California Title 22 regulations
- Proficiency in data analysis and GIS mapping software
- Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently in field environments
