Responsibilities
- Design and implement evidence-based public health intervention programs targeting vulnerable populations
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for health crises including pandemics and natural disasters
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and recommend mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with local healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organizations
- Develop educational materials and public awareness campaigns on health prevention
- Lead grant writing and budget management for public health initiatives
- Conduct compliance audits and ensure adherence to state and federal health regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive public health experience with state government or large healthcare systems
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Advanced proficiency in epidemiological software (e.g., SAS, R, Epi Info)
- Demonstrated crisis management experience during public health emergencies
- Strong grant writing and federal/state funding acquisition track record
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel statewide
