Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of aircraft, facilities, and maintenance operations to ensure compliance with FAA regulations
- Investigate aviation incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions
- Evaluate and approve maintenance procedures, modifications, and repairs for aircraft systems
- Provide technical guidance and training to aviation industry professionals on safety standards
- Monitor and enforce federal aviation regulations through audits and compliance reviews
- Collaborate with air traffic control, engineering, and legal teams to resolve safety concerns
- Stay current with emerging aviation technologies and regulatory updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in aviation, engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic certification required
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 43, 91, 121, 135)
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail
- Valid FAA Class II Medical Certificate
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
