Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans and veteran benefit programs with strict adherence to OPM regulations
- Process complex benefit applications and ensure compliance with federal laws (5 U.S.C. chapters 83 & 84)
- Conduct eligibility determinations for retirement and survivor benefits
- Develop educational materials for veterans regarding pension entitlements
- Collaborate with HR specialists on retirement planning workshops
- Manage confidential employee records and benefit documentation
- Prepare quarterly reports for OPM and congressional oversight committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of federal benefits administration experience
- Proficiency with OPM systems (e.g., HRIS, CHIPS)
- Familiarity with Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Thrift Savings Plan
- Active Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- US Citizenship required
- Strong analytical skills with attention to regulatory compliance
