Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance and counseling to federal employees regarding health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Review and process federal personnel forms and benefit enrollment packages with high accuracy and adherence to OPM regulations.
- Conduct outreach sessions and workshops to educate staff on federal benefits eligibility and enrollment deadlines.
- Collaborate with the HR department to resolve complex benefit discrepancies and ensure compliance with federal mandates.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records of all employee interactions and benefit transactions.
- Stay updated on changes in federal legislation and communicate these changes effectively to the workforce.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in benefits administration, HR support, or a related federal services role.
- Strong knowledge of OPM (Office of Personnel Management) regulations and federal benefits systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex policies in plain English.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and document management.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain necessary federal clearances.
