Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits of state/local programs for federal regulation compliance
- Develop and implement compliance monitoring systems for grant-funded initiatives
- Collaborate with agency leadership to resolve compliance deficiencies
- Prepare detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations
- Train public sector staff on federal compliance requirements
- Stay current with evolving federal regulations and policy changes
- Coordinate with DOJ attorneys on complex compliance cases
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of federal/state/local compliance experience
- Valid CPA or Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) certification
- Proficiency with audit software (e.g., ACL, IDEA)
- Strong knowledge of OMB Circulars and federal grant management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- U.S. citizenship required
