Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with VA regulations, HIPAA, and federal healthcare standards
- Conduct internal audits and prepare detailed compliance reports
- Develop corrective action plans for regulatory deficiencies
- Train staff on federal compliance protocols and documentation requirements
- Collaborate with legal teams on policy updates and regulatory changes
- Manage compliance documentation systems and electronic health records
- Respond to audits from federal agencies including OIG and CMS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in federal compliance or healthcare regulation
- VA-specific certification (VHA or VHAIS preferred)
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and VA directives
- Proficient in compliance management software (e.g., VHAIS, Cerner)
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance
- Strong analytical skills with experience in regulatory audits
- Excellent written communication for policy documentation
