Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to federal regulations (VA, OMB, and DoD standards)
- Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments across 15+ departments
- Develop/implement corrective action plans with 48-hour response times
- Coordinate with DOJ and GAO for regulatory inquiries
- Maintain HIPAA/FERPA compliance documentation
- Train staff on federal policy updates (quarterly sessions)
- Prepare congressional reports and testimony materials
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Law, or related field
- 3+ years federal compliance experience (GS-9+ equivalent)
- Active Secret security clearance
- VA-specific certification preferred (e.g., VHA Compliance Officer)
- Advanced knowledge of CFR 38 and 42 U.S.C. § 201
- Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and FedTrack systems
- Experience managing cross-agency initiatives
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance within 30 days
