Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional rules during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security inspections and headcounts to maintain facility integrity
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation and restraint techniques
- Document all observations and incidents in compliance with federal protocols
- Operate security systems including CCTV, alarms, and perimeter controls
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during joint operations
- Maintain accurate logs and reports for federal compliance audits
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Minimum of 21 years old and maximum of 37 at appointment
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph
- Successfully complete physical fitness assessment (PFA)
- Ability to work rotating night shifts and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Valid state-issued emergency medical certification preferred
