Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to maintain security and order
- Conduct routine searches of inmates, living quarters, and common areas
- Respond to emergencies including medical incidents, disturbances, and security breaches
- Document incidents, inmate behavior, and facility operations in official reports
- Transport inmates between facility locations and court appearances
- Operate security systems including gates, cameras, and communication equipment
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must pass background investigation and medical examination
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successfully complete 200-hour basic training program
- Physical ability to meet law enforcement standards (e.g., running, lifting)
