Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce institutional rules to maintain security and order during overnight hours
- Conduct regular perimeter and facility inspections using advanced surveillance technology
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with tactical precision
- Implement emergency response protocols including lockdown procedures and evacuation plans
- Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation in compliance with federal standards
- Collaborate with healthcare and rehabilitation staff for inmate welfare programs
- Operate security systems including biometric scanners and electronic monitoring equipment
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- High school diploma or GED with additional security/law enforcement training preferred
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and polygraph examination
- Physical fitness to meet federal correctional officer standards (including defensive tactics certification)
- Exceptional decision-making skills under high-pressure situations
- Experience with crisis intervention and conflict de-escalation techniques
