Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmates in a federal correctional facility during weekend shifts
- Conduct security inspections and headcounts to ensure facility safety protocols
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using approved de-escalation techniques
- Document all activities and maintain accurate incident reports
- Enforce institutional rules and regulations while promoting rehabilitation programs
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and control panels
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license required
- Minimum of 30 college credits or 3 years of correctional experience
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and medical examination
- Must be at least 20 years old with no felony convictions
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work in high-stress environments
- Valid Tennessee Peace Officer Standards (POST) certification preferred
- Experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
