Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities to ensure facility safety and security protocols
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of correctional areas
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation and crisis management techniques
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of all facility operations and incidents
- Enforce federal regulations and institutional policies consistently
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages to prevent contraband introduction
- Participate in emergency response drills and training exercises
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Minimum 21 years of age with high school diploma or GED
- Pass federal background investigation and medical examination
- Ability to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET security clearance
- Completion of federal correctional officer training program
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Physical fitness to meet correctional officer performance standards
