Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of travelers, vehicles, and cargo at international ports of entry
- Enforce U.S. immigration, customs, and agricultural laws with precision and professionalism
- Operate advanced detection equipment and surveillance systems during weekend operations
- Document and report suspicious activities, potential threats, and security breaches
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies
- Maintain detailed records and prepare comprehensive incident reports
- Provide exceptional customer service to international travelers while enforcing regulations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon)
- Pass background investigation and medical fitness examination
- Basic proficiency in Spanish (written and spoken)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
- Experience in law enforcement, security, or customer service preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Successful completion of CBP training academy
