Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic to detect and mitigate potential cyber threats.
- Implement and enforce federal cybersecurity policies and compliance frameworks (NIST, FISMA).
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
- Manage access control systems and maintain accurate audit logs for federal systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff and agency stakeholders.
- Respond to security incidents and coordinate with external law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- Develop and maintain documentation for security architecture and incident response plans.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal or military cybersecurity environments.
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, Firewalls, and Endpoint Detection.
- Strong understanding of NIST, CISA, and FISMA compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to senior leadership.
