Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability scans of federal information systems.
- Implement and monitor advanced security controls to defend against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Lead incident response investigations and coordinate recovery efforts for security breaches.
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and training materials for staff.
- Ensure full compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other federal regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security measures into system development life cycles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
- Certification such as CISSP, Security+, or CEH is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information assurance within the public sector.
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols, incident response methodologies, and forensics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
