We're seeking a detail-oriented professional to transform complex federal datasets into actionable insights for healthcare program optimization. You'll work with sensitive veteran health records while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA and federal data regulations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret large-scale federal datasets using SQL, Python, and R to identify trends in veteran healthcare utilization
- Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau for executive decision-making
- Ensure data integrity across VA systems while adhering to FISMA and NIST compliance standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design data collection methodologies for new VA initiatives
- Present findings to senior leadership through concise executive summaries and data-driven recommendations
- Maintain documentation of data processes and quality control measures for federal audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience with federal data systems and healthcare datasets
- Proficiency in SQL, Python (Pandas, NumPy), and data visualization tools
- Strong understanding of federal data regulations (HIPAA, FISMA, 42 CFR Part 2)
- Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing in government environments
