Responsibilities
- Analyze federal healthcare datasets using SQL, Python, and R to identify trends in veteran care utilization
- Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau for executive leadership review
- Ensure compliance with federal data standards (HIPAA, FISMA) and security protocols
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams to improve data quality and reporting accuracy
- Present findings to congressional stakeholders through formal briefings and written reports
- Automate data pipelines to enhance operational efficiency across VA systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Policy, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years analyzing complex datasets in government or regulated industry
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one analytical language (Python/R)
- Experience with federal reporting requirements and data governance frameworks
- Certification in data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences
