Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret federal environmental regulations for California-specific implementation
- Develop policy briefs and recommendations for senior leadership
- Coordinate interagency initiatives on climate resilience and land management
- Represent departmental interests in state-level negotiations
- Monitor legislative developments and assess impacts on federal programs
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with tribal nations and local governments
- Prepare testimony for congressional hearings and regulatory reviews
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Policy, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in federal or state government policy roles
- Deep knowledge of NEPA, ESA, and California environmental regulations
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement and consensus-building
- Proven ability to draft complex policy documents and legislative analyses
- Security clearance eligibility (Top Secret/SCI preferred)
- Experience managing cross-functional teams on environmental initiatives
