Responsibilities
- Manage and secure electronic health records (EHR) systems for veteran patients
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and data integrity across all platforms
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize health information workflows
- Implement federal health data standards and regulatory requirements
- Train staff on health information management best practices
- Conduct regular audits and maintain documentation trails
- Lead system upgrades and data migration projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- 3+ years of experience with EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic)
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Proficiency in federal health data standards (HL7, FHIR)
- Demonstrated HIPAA compliance expertise
- Strong project management skills
- U.S. citizenship and federal background clearance
- Experience with DoD/VA health systems preferred
