Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure IT infrastructure supporting critical veteran services
- Lead system modernization projects ensuring compliance with federal security standards (FISMA/NIST)
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for complex network and application issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT strategy and disaster recovery planning
- Document system configurations and develop operational procedures
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Mentor junior IT staff and implement knowledge-sharing initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years specialized IT experience at GS-11 level or equivalent
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expertise in Windows Server, virtualization, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Strong knowledge of federal IT policies and compliance frameworks
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification required
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure
