Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity frameworks to protect federal systems and data
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security gaps
- Develop incident response plans and lead security breach mitigation efforts
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards including NIST, FISMA, and DHS directives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security protocols into IT infrastructure
- Monitor security systems and analyze threat intelligence to proactively address risks
- Provide cybersecurity training to staff and promote security awareness across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in federal IT security roles
- Active Security Clearance (or ability to obtain Secret clearance)
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM certification required
- Expertise in risk assessment methodologies and security frameworks
- Experience with SIEM platforms, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability scanners
- Strong knowledge of federal IT security policies and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate complex security concepts
