Responsibilities
- Monitor federal network traffic and server health using specialized monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
- Provide Tier 2 technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues reported during the night shift.
- Respond to and resolve critical alerts regarding system outages or security breaches immediately.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, patch management, and system backups to ensure data integrity.
- Document all technical interventions, incidents, and resolutions in the central ticketing system.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams and federal stakeholders to ensure seamless operational continuity.
- Adhere to all federal security protocols, NIST standards, and ITIL best practices.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or system engineering.
- Night Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (or higher) is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in TCP/IP, Windows Server, Active Directory, and basic scripting (PowerShell/Bash).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document issues clearly and communicate with remote teams.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent military or federal experience will be considered.
