Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain federal network infrastructure and server systems during night shifts to ensure 24/7 operational availability.
- Perform proactive troubleshooting and incident response for critical federal applications and databases.
- Execute security patches and updates during low-traffic windows to minimize disruption to federal services.
- Document system configurations, incidents, and resolutions in accordance with federal compliance standards (NIST, FISMA).
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to hand off critical issues and ensure seamless continuity of operations.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize federal network efficiency.
- Assist in the deployment of new federal hardware and software solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent technical experience.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or ITIL Foundation are highly preferred.
- Active Top Secret or Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one) is required for this federal role.
- Proven experience working in night shift or rotational shift environments.
- Strong understanding of federal IT security protocols and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills to interface with diverse stakeholders and federal agencies.
