Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily administration of federal pension plans, ensuring accurate member record-keeping and processing.
- Conduct comprehensive compliance audits to align with ERISA, IRS regulations, and federal government mandates.
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and service credit adjustments with precision and efficiency.
- Provide expert guidance and support to federal employees regarding their pension eligibility and vesting schedules.
- Collaborate with the actuarial team to project funding requirements and prepare quarterly financial reports.
- Respond to complex inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, resolving issues promptly to maintain high member satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience administering federal or state pension plans (FERS/CSRS experience strongly preferred).
- Deep knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), ERISA regulations, and federal retirement guidelines.
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., HR/Pension Systems, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and perform actuarial calculations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
